This temporary position is located at 114 W Edenton St - Wake County.   This position is assigned to the Department of Justice.

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.90 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Management Preferences:  

  • The primary purpose of this position is to provide legal secretarial, administrative, and other support to the Tort Claims Section attorneys. The employee will perform a variety of office and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents and materials, as well as maintain the database by timely entry of necessary data as required. 
  • The employee will oversee closing and achieving closed case files.  This includes scanning documents into the achieving system, properly denoting their status in case management and database system, and overseeing the ultimate disposition of the physical file.
  • This position requires screening and routing materials; filing and retrieving information and documents; providing telephone and reception services; typing and proofreading; composing legal documents and correspondence; opening and closing of claims and actions; receiving and processing bills; responding to inquiries from the general public, claimants, private attorneys and State agencies; preparing records and reports, scheduling travel, depositions and meetings; making arrangements for court reporters and room reservations; and tracking cases.
