PagerDuty seeks a top-tier candidate to tackle the Company’s SEC reporting and technical accounting complexities. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with a strong working knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls. This role is an individual contributor reporting to the Senior Technical Accounting Manager.

How You Impact Our Vision

  • Responsible for preparation of the Company’s external financial reporting process, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-Ks, ensuring financial statements are in accordance with U.S. GAAP guidelines.
  • Ensures quality control over the Forms 10-K and 10-Q
  • Collaborates with other accounting, finance, and legal teams and external auditors
  • Analyze new and proposed accounting standards, determine the impact on the Company, and assist in the implementation of new accounting standards as required
  • As necessary, assist in ad-hoc projects and any technical accounting requests.
  • Assist in technical accounting research for any complex, unusual, and/or significant transactions and provide technical accounting guidance across all functions, ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP and disclosure requirements; provide findings to management and participate in discussions with external auditors.
  • Maintain, update, and evaluate accounting policies & procedures in line with U.S. GAAP.
  • Liaise and manage the coordination with external auditors during quarterly and annual financial reviews and audits.
  • Proactive identification of accounting & disclosure issues /proactive benchmarking of disclosure practices and recommendations to management.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of SOX 404, including documentation of processes and procedures for external and other reporting functions.
  • Support all close and reporting activities as part of the financial reporting team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience; Big 4 experience is required, direct experience on external reporting and technical accounting responsibilities with a public company experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • SaaS industry experience preferred but not required
  • Experience solving and documenting complex technical accounting issues
  • Previous experience with Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Proxy Statements, etc.
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of an organization, from clerical staff to executives, and manage relationships with external parties

The base salary range for this position is 100,000 - 156,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
