The Opportunity
ConvenientMD is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of IT to lead cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations management. This role is critical in supporting the organization’s rapid growth and commitment to exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic problem solver, adept at fostering teamwork, and passionate about developing solutions that enhance the customer experience. This leader will oversee network administration, platform infrastructure, hardware and device support, and drive IT strategy with a strong focus on cybersecurity across the organization.
This position is based onsite at ConvenientMD headquarters in Portsmouth, NH.
Your Impact
- Cybersecurity Leadership & Risk Management
- Lead and manage IT security, infrastructure, and operations to ensure robust protection of organizational data and systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and respond to emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents, coordinating rapid response and remediation efforts.
- Champion a culture of security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Provide operational, analytical, and decision-making support to improve and transform IT models, tools, and processes.
- Continuously analyze data to identify improvement opportunities, address root causes of issues, and implement automation or tools to enhance the customer experience.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and effective IT solutions that align with organizational goals.
- User Enablement & Support Optimization
- Develop and maintain end-user documentation and self-service resources to empower users to resolve issues independently.
- Assess incoming support request volume and trends, identifying opportunities for reduction through technology and process optimization.
- Strategic Resource Planning
- Evaluate staffing needs and make data-driven recommendations for organizational changes that improve efficiency and performance.
Who You Are
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years in IT management, with a focus on developing team capabilities.
- At least 8 years of experience in IT security, operations, and infrastructure development.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with networking, applications, platform, and hardware engineering and support.
- Strong team leader: Proven track record in building and managing high-performing IT security and operations teams. Demonstrated ability to inspire, develop, and lead cross-functional IT teams toward achieving strategic goals.
- Cybersecurity expert: Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, threat management, incident response, and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
- Skilled communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
