About the role
Overview:The Portfolio Consultant in the Portfolio Analysis and Consulting Group within Natixis Investment Managers Solutions provides investment consulting services to current and prospective clients across sales channels, requiring them to build partnerships with our sales teams and clients. The Consultant performs in-depth portfolio analysis while discussing macro and market views. The Consultant also sits on the Natixis Solutions Investment Committee, where they contribute their market insight and interpret the market environment to provide actionable investment ideas. The Consultant must have a commanding knowledge of current and historical portfolio construction tactics, economic and capital markets, quantitative methods and possess excellent communication skills. Given each consultation is highly unique, the Consultant must be flexible, resourceful, results-driven and possess a problem-solving mind-set. This is a hybrid position located in Boston, MA. What you will do:
- Conduct client meetings virtually and at times in person, in partnership with our sales team. Client interactions include macro and market reviews, manager research, and comprehensive portfolio reviews
- Identify imbalances, gaps, inefficiencies, hidden risks and/or inconsistencies with the intent to improve a portfolio’s structure and provide ideas to do so
- Provide capital market and economic market context from a historical and forward-looking basis as it relates to existing portfolios and proposed changes
- Conduct investment and manager research
- Participate in the department’s Investment Committee providing topical investment research, portfolio weighting suggestions and weekly comments or ideas for discussion
- Suggest inventive ways to improve, differentiate and advance the team’s analytical capabilities
- Partner and communicate with the sales team
- Assist with monitoring key competitors and noteworthy trends within the competitive landscape
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Natixis’s affiliate investment capabilities
- Bachelor’s Degree and demonstrated CFA progression at level II or beyond required.
- Minimum 10 years of prior related financial services industry experience
- Demonstrated strength and proficiency with analytical concepts and mathematical sciences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly credible and professional with ability to conduct individual and group meetings
- Excellent time management, strong organization skills and highly motivated
- Works well in a team environment
- Possesses strong work ethic and desire to continuously improve
- Proficient with analytical software packages including MPI Stylus, Factset, Bloomberg and risk modeling applications
- Ability to travel 10-15% of time
- Must have SIE, series 7 & 63 or must be willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
