About the role

NEON is seeking a dynamic, highly organized Publicity Manager to join our growing team. This role will drive regional publicity strategy across all NEON titles—from festival launch through theatrical release and awards season while providing essential support to national campaigns. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a strategic thinker with sharp instincts, bold ideas, and a genuine love for independent film and entertainment media.

Here is what you'll do:

Regional Publicity

  • Develop and oversee regional publicity strategies for all NEON titles from festival launch through theatrical and awards campaigns.
  • Pitch and secure coverage across regional print, online, broadcast, and radio outlets.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with regional film critics, journalists, and media partners.
  • Manage regional press and promotional screenings, overseeing invitations, RSVPs, and on-site execution.
  • Coordinate talent appearances for regional press days, screenings, Q&As, and local media opportunities.
  • Craft tailored pitch angles that drive audience engagement and maximize coverage in each market.
  • Track regional press coverage and distribute comprehensive reports internally and to filmmakers.

National Publicity Support

  • Partner with national campaign leads to support overall publicity strategy for each title.
  • Contribute to campaign brainstorms, press notes, talking points, and narrative positioning.
  • Assist with national press efforts, including top-tier features, long-lead pitching, and broadcast bookings.
  • Coordinate talent travel, schedules, and logistics for national press tours, premieres, and festivals.
  • Support festival publicity (Sundance, TIFF, Cannes, Telluride, NYFF, etc.), including talent handling, on-site press management, and scheduling.
  • Help manage review campaigns, including materials distribution, embargo communication, and critic relations.
  • Collaborate on awards publicity efforts in conjunction with awards consultants and national leads.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing and distribution teams to ensure consistent, cohesive messaging across all campaigns.
  • Contribute to campaign decks, presentations, and filmmaker communications as needed.

Administrative & Operational

  • Maintain and update regional press lists and critics groups.
  • Prepare and distribute press breaks, coverage recaps, and campaign performance reports.
  • Manage budget tracking for regional publicity expenses.
  • Oversee delivery of promotional materials (trailers, stills, clips, EPK assets) to regional press.

Compensation:

This position has a target annual pay range of $75,000 - $80,000. Compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, and internal equity.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the NYC or LA office a minimum of three days per week.
