Position Description:

Builds automation pipelines using DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- Maven, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, and Sonar. Develops original and creative technical solutions to support on-going development efforts, using Agile development lifecycle methodologies -- JIRA, XRAY with Agile/Scrum processes. Ensures data is accurate, consistent, and meets standards in support of corporate initiatives, using data validation tools (SQL, DB2, Oracle, and frameworks -- Cucumber, Java, and Rest services) within Cloud computing environments and applications -- AWS and Azure. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing test automation to support the API and Web services into an operations environment within a cloud-based architecture.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing test automation to support the API and web services into an operations environment within a cloud-based architecture.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) working in a complex financial data ecosystem designing, developing, and testing Java and J2EE applications and Webservices (SOAP and RESTful) to enhance financial data processing and analysis capabilities; performing Object-Oriented design, using Model-view-controller (MVC) and Microservices design patterns -- Spring Boot framework, Integrated Development Environment (IDE) toolset (Eclipse, IntelliJ, or STS), GitHub, Bitbucket or Stash repositories source control, and Maven dependency manager to develop scalable and maintainable applications; and performing CI/CD operations  using Jenkins, Artifactory, and deploying  for consistent and reliable software delivery.
  • DE developing Application Programming Interface (APIs) in an Agile environment to integrate with financial systems, using Object Oriented patterns, Spring MVC, Spring Boot frameworks, Oracle, and SQL Developer for seamless and secured data integration; designing system diagrams using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to visualize and document system architecture and components; and running applications on Apache and Tomcat servers to deliver reliable Web services and applications.
  • DE designing, building, and maintaining responsive financial User Interface (UI) applications to provide a seamless and user-friendly experience, and across platform compatibility and accessibility, using JavaScript frameworks, jQuery, Node.js, Handlebar.js, and Bootstrap CSS, and ensuring code quality using Sonar.
  • DE performing unit and functional testing for API, and Selenium IDE or Jest UIs, to enhance test coverage, code quality and validation functionality, using Junit and Mockito; analyzing and designing Object Oriented applications to develop robust and efficient web applications, using Angular UI, REST Services, Spring Boot, HTML or CSS, and Apache Camel; and writing SQL queries and stored procedures to optimize database performance and efficiency using Oracle SQL Developer, AQT  and DBeaver.
