  • High level of proficiency in the use of CAD tools such as Solidworks and Analytical tools such as Ansys Mechanical and Ansys Motion.
  • Extensive knowledge of how to efficiently and effectively configure FEA simulations while knowing how to properly interpret the results and what degree to trust them.
  • Experience analyzing structural hardware and mounting systems for fatigue life, durability, and field reliability.
  • Extensive experience designing and producing sheet metal, bar stock, machined, weldments, thermoplastic and composite parts.
  • Extensive experience designing for harsh outdoor environments to protect against water ingress, rust, corrosion, and shock/vibe damage.
  • Ability to quickly prototype, troubleshoot, and iterate designs with both deep ownership and collaboration.
  • Highly desired to have past experience working with a test engineering organization to set up, operate, and analyze results from structural qualification testing.
  • Solid familiarity with SAE, DOT, and other applicable codes and compliance to them.
  • Highly desired to have past experience as a Responsible Engineer.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with direct and matrixed management to achieve timely objectives.
  • Desire to support products in the production and field environments and a high level of comfort working directly with customers. Willingness to travel ~10% of the time to these locations.
  • BS+ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
