NGVP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brown Advisory, is an early-stage venture capital firm bringing a service mentality to venture. NGVP benefits from a network of 1,800+ part-time Venture Partners who participate in our investment process and may invest alongside our funds.

The Operations team within NGVP is currently seeking a professional, energetic and self-motivated Operations Associate. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and has the ability to multi-task changing priorities while supporting multiple colleagues on the NGVP team. This role will work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure that processes are streamlined throughout the organization.

Client Relations:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational or client issues with relevant stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Represent the firm as the client's primary point of contact and a dedicated, trusted resource for the NGVP client base.
  • Handle performance inquiries, ad-hoc reporting, contact/reassignment requests, and reporting questions.

Operations Management & Support

  • Support the Director of Operations with quarterly deliverables such as reporting (NAV Package, SOI, PCAP, Quarterly Call), SPV Updates, Custody Reviews all while ensuring timely turnarounds and data accuracy.
  • Manage NGVP Deal Opportunities to the network including engaging with various stakeholders in the deal process (Founders, Venture Partners, Limited Partners, Private Equity, Fund Administration, Compliance, Legal, Accounting) to assist in offering deals to the network.
  • Assist with operational due diligence (ODD) by liaising with the ODD team, portfolio company, and deal-lead.
  • Prepare and send documents for client signature (investment agreements, subscription and redemption documents). Store and maintain electronic records.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining investment-related digital files, folders, and records.

Meeting & Project Support:

  • Attend weekly deal-team meetings, actively listening for new tasks/priorities from the investment committee and clearly communicating project statuses and other needs.
  • Support partners with special projects and investor relations, including scheduling, travel, and expense reporting.
  • Execute multiple Venture Partner and Limited Partner events across the country.
  • Support and help build Venture Partner event strategy
  • Support VP and Portfolio Projects, for example, recruiting, sourcing vendors, perk page and discounts, portfolio summits/offsites.
  • Contribute to the NGVP Platform and future product rollouts, including identifying new elements and functionalities.

Reporting, Legal & Compliance:

  • Assist with audits, including surprise custody checks, annual financials, and ad-hoc SEC examinations.
  • Manage relationship with Legal & Compliance for investment materials and marketing for prospective and current investor materials.
  • Create and Manage Pricing Committee materials to ensure accurate valuations and dissemination of materials to Committee members.
  • Manage legal processes, including but not limited to the formation of new LLCs, Annual Form D Filings, and the upkeep of any legal templates.
  • Support the Director of Operations with preparing and disseminating annual taxes for 5 Funds and 70+ LLCs

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess, 3 – 5 years of experience in operations, with some experience as an Administrative Assistant, Office Assistant, or Marketing/Event planning
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Financial services, VC, or PE industry ex
