What’s the role?

We are looking for a Fullstack engineering professional to help evolve Reverb as a marketplace that makes the world more musical, one musician at a time.

As the Senior Software Engineer I, Personalization you will be responsible for developing Reverb's full stack application through gathering data to inform decisions, breaking down and delivering work incrementally, and monitoring and tracking the impact. You will do so in collaboration with engineers, designers, product managers, marketers, and other stakeholders. Do you find joy in working on engineering challenges with direct impact in the world? This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager, Personalization. For this role, we are considering candidates based in Mexico who are either remote, flex, or office-based. Etsy offers different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team. • We work closely with app and data engineers, marketing and product managers, designers, and analysts.

What does the day-to-day look like?

• Frequently collaborate with teammates based out of Chicago and other locations in the United States
• Build and maintain software written in Ruby/Rails, GraphQL, React/Typescript
• Establish guardrails and follow standards to prevent security and performance issues
• Consistently and proactively breaks down large features into multiple stages for delivery by yourself and your teammates
• Identify and resolve difficult architectural and technical trade-offs
• Balance immediate feature delivery with long-term technology improvements
• Use data to help scope, define, and measure your work
• Foster an inclusive team environment by seeking and offering feedback on work and highlighting others' accomplishments

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• Proven success leading development of public, customer-facing e-commerce software.
• Experience working with full-stack frameworks and technologies such as Ruby/Rails, GraphQL, React/Typescript
• Ability to balance technical, business, and user priorities
• Successful track record of collaboration on a multidisciplinary team with diverse stakeholders
