We are seeking a talented and versatile Senior Technology Writer who has spent their career in the automotive space and is passionate about EV technology and the EV landscape. As a key part of the Marketing team, as a member of the PR team, you’ll work closely with Lucid Executive Leadership, Engineering, Creative, and Product Marketing to infuse all customer and press-facing communications with the technological intent, mission and essence of Lucid Motors. A strong understanding and knowledge of EV technology, combined with a background in automotive technology journalism is essential for success in this role. 

The Role:

• Research material and conduct internal interviews to craft and edit long-form editorial and marketing content including blog posts, customer e-mails, innovation stories, press releases, FAQs, executive speeches, etc. 
• Create clear, compelling content that explains advanced ideas and technology in ways that both speak to a technical audience and are accessible to a non-technical audience 
• Interview engineers and other subject matter experts to understand and document complex technologies and systems and the intent/benefit behind each.   
• Write with clarity, creativity and precision, understanding the target audience and the communication objectives of each piece 
• Review content to ensure alignment with brand voice and tone, and adherence to Lucid editorial guidelines 
• Manage the process of approval, editing, and delivery of external facing communications (“air traffic control”) 
• Stay up to date on the latest advancements in automotive, EV, and autonomous driving technology 
• Collect and ensure creative adherence to a lexicon 
• Juggle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adjusting to changes in assignments, direction, etc. 

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of automotive writing and journalism experience  
• Understanding of Engineering concepts – Engineering background desired 
• Extremely passionate about the automotive and EV landscape and emerging technologies within it 
• Extensive experience with the Chicago Manual of Style and Associated Press Stylebook; working knowledge of AMA Manual of Style  
• Proven and tangible Automotive writing/editing portfolio 
• Strong communication and presentation skills – verbal and written 
• A team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 

Preferred:

• Experience in the luxury or B2C high-tech industries 

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.·       California (Bay Area) - $154-220k
