Project Manager, Diagnosis Accuracy

Position Summary:
The Diagnosis Accuracy Project Manager will become an essential part of the Diagnosis Accuracy Team by becoming a subject matter expert on diagnosis accuracy related projects. The Project Manager will use comprehensive project management, initiative support, and process improvement to support Care Group initiatives focused on diagnosis accuracy. In collaboration with clinical, administrative leaders and support staff, will identify, prioritize, plan, and manage multiple Care Group wide work teams in support of the strategic objectives of the Care Group related to diagnosis accuracy. The Diagnosis Accuracy Project Manager will provide formal reporting that tracks risk trends, data, metrics, and action plans for diagnosis accuracy team and service lines.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- 3+ years of work experience in healthcare
- 3-5+ years of Project Management experience
- Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following:
- Process/quality improvement
- Lean, Six Sigma or PDCA
- Demonstrated experience with the following:
- Program/project management/change management
- Starting new initiatives/program development
- Communication with internal and external customers
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, and electronic medical record.
- Knowledge or understanding of health plan diagnosis risk models and coding.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Demonstrated experience for managing the complete project and/or PDCA cycle including defining and scoping new opportunities.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Participation in Park Nicollet Lean Leader Program and Change Management course completion, or PPM certification not required but seen as an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Constructive dissatisfaction with the status quo and drive for improvement using strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical skills and problem solving. Able to contribute these skills to the creation of solutions.
- Demonstrated capability to obtain and analyze data to direct project focus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to teach, coach and influence others.
- Drive and initiative to develop relationships and partnerships within and external to areas of focus.
- Proficient in preparing, leading, and facilitating meetings.
- Able to successfully deal with ambiguity, have perspective and courage, be approachable and motivate others.
- Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project is desirable.
- Experience with EMR (Epic) is also a plus.
