Nature of Work:

Represent the security interests of the Denver Nuggets Team and Staff at home arena, on the road with Team travel and all Team sanctioned events. Assist with security services for the players, coaches and staff as necessary. Significant domestic and some international travel.

Examples of work performed:

• During Team travel, coordinate with each airport, venue and hotel security personnel to ensure team safety
• Ensure Team bags are properly screened prior to travel
• Work with Team equipment personnel to tag bags at hotel and maintain integrity of Team bags and equipment 
• Coordinates team bus times and movement
• Assist with hotel security and arena security to conduct K-9 searches 
• Develop a working relationship with local and state law enforcement agencies and NBA team security personnel. 
• Set up police escorts where necessary
• Monitor activity between players and fans near the team bench. Ensure fans don’t interfere with players, coaches and staff on the bench and the floor
• Work closely with arena security personnel at home and road 
• Conducts investigations of incidents during games involving NBA players, staff and others as necessary ‘
• Escort players and coaches from the game to the team’s locker room if ejected from the game
• Immediately report all unusual incidents involving players coaches and staff to the Team and Arena executives
• Oversight and investigate all team related security incidents including but not limited to vehicle accidents, citations, crimes against players, and any incidents requiring law enforcement
• Awareness of arena and NBA Weapons and Firearms Policy 
• Attend Pre-Game Security meeting in officials’ locker room
• Provide security coverage at Team events, such as but not limited to player appearances, autograph signings and Team dinners
• General awareness of arena Safety and Evacuation plans
• Knowledge of NBA policies
• Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

• Lift 50 lbs. daily
• Work in extreme weather conditions
• Regular Travel Required 

Qualifications:

• Minimum
  1. Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience and or elevated security related experience with high profile individuals
  2. CPR Certified
  3. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
• Preferred
  1. BS/BA degree in field or related field 
  2. Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $85,000 per annum
