Sr. Trade Compliance Analyst

Kontoor Brands is seeking a Sr. Trade Compliance Analyst of Customs Compliance and FTZ Operations who will be responsible for maintaining and following Customs Compliance policies related to qualification, valuation, and classification.  You will also be responsible for on-going analytics of Customs entry data related to Customs Entry Reconciliation, Duty Drawback processing, Duty Optimization, Supply Chain flow, and FTZ processing.  Further, you will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) around Kontoor’s internal import/export processes, procedures and controls in order to routinely optimize internal policies and processes to ensure on-going compliance in accordance with corporate policy and US Customs guidelines and regulations.

The Sr. Trade Compliance Analyst will also act as an assistant to the Manager – Customs Compliance and FTZ and Sr. Manager of Trade Compliance to optimize Kontoor’s compliance with US Customs regulations.

Responsibilities:  

• Assist in the maintenance of internal import/export processes, procedures and controls; upgrade and/or improve upon internal policies and processes to ensure on-going compliance in accordance with corporate policy and US Customs guidelines and regulations.
• Process and complete periodic US Customs Entry Reconciliation for internal/owned manufacturing
• Process Quarterly Duty Drawback processing for all US exports.
• Review Duty and other Compliance KPI’s and work with internal and external partners on optimization opportunities.
• Manage reports on import and export trade data in ACE and various other resources.
• Assist Logistics and Customs Compliance Management with strategic projects to improve efficiency, compliance and cost reduction initiatives.
• SME for enhancements and troubleshooting around various internal and external systems in support of Kontoor’s customs compliance.
• Broker management: Liaise with brokers for daily shipment clearances.  Perform frequent Post Entry Audit.

Requirements:  

• 3+ Experience managing customs and international trade and regulatory compliance programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or logistics and/or equivalent work experience.
• Strong Technical Skills (PowerBI and Advanced MS Excel).
• Experience with Trade Agreements/Qualification, HTS Classification and Customs Valuation, Customs Entry, Import, and Export Procedures/Requirements, Customs Reconciliation, Duty Drawback analysis and filing.
• Analytical mindset and capability for both advanced data manipulation and actioning of data.
• Ability to drive complex, cross functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, executing on tasks, presenting results, and monitoring progress.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Apparel industry and tariff classification
  • Current (or plans to obtain) customs brokerage license
