POSITION SUMMARY:                                  

The Global Commodity Management - Project Manager plans and executes strategic initiatives in Global Commodity Management (GCM).  This position works with local and worldwide cross-functional teams to develop and meet project schedules, manages and monitors projects from inception to completion - assuring satisfactory completion, coordinates with all commodity leaders and with upper level management within Global Supply Chain and Operations, and is responsible for planning and execution to projects to integrate supply base. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, monitor, and complete small to large scale programs
  • Develop and monitor financial targets
  • Identify variances from plan and recommend corrective actions
  • Regularly report project status; develop metrics and goals to monitor performance and effectiveness
  • Specific tasks include the following:
    • Optimize supply base from BUs to strategic suppliers
    • Identify opportunities from non-strategic suppliers “Off The Shelf” (OTS) suppliers for RFQs to strategic suppliers
    • Oversee the process to set up the new supplier with the various BUs and within the ERP for PIR and Source List updates and timing
    • Represent GCM integrations of OTS suppliers for remote operations sites.
    • Process ownership supporting GCM for NextGen ERP
    • Standard cost & price updates, lead time, terms, supplier data, and others as assigned
    • Drive targeted sourcing programs for cost of ownership reduction & improved availability
    • Supplier consolidation activities to match commodity strategies and reduce supplier count a head of deploying new ERP tool
    • Communicate timing of new supplier change over to GCM & Operations Program team
  • Other duties as assigned

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (Remote or Hybrid)
  • Travel less than 25%  
  • Interfaces with internal customers mostly in GCM and Operations

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and project management skills required
  • Attention to detail
  • Well organized and disciplined
  • Ability to make independent decisions with initiative and tact
  • Must be able to interact with people at all levels and locations in the organization
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to manage to aggressive timelines
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Including Project and Visio) and SAP

 

EXPERIENCE:                                              

  • Experience in successfully managing cross-functional teams towards a common goal
  • Experience in developing and executing to project goals and financial targets
  • 3+ years of experience in managing cross-functional setting and projects preferred

 

EDUCATION:                                                                                    

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Project Management or similar
  • Certification in APICS CPIM, CIRM and PMP or similar preferred

 

COMPENSATION:                           

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting.  Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  The range of starting pay for this role is $100,000 to $105,000 per year.
