The Senior Team Lead has a strong working knowledge of regulations governing payroll as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Social Security Administration, state and local taxing jurisdictions and any government body with authority governing payroll. The Position will report to the Payroll Manager and will align activities to the direct needs of the business.

Job Description

  • Work closely with Payroll Manager to assist in sustaining growth and improve efficiencies within the department.

  • Train, coach, and provide feedback to Sr. Payroll Admins

  • Recommend new approaches on policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of services performed.

  • Demonstrate critical thinking as well as expertise in payroll programs and processes. 

  • Serve as payroll subject matter expert during new employee transitions and Merger & Acquisition activity.

  • Resolve routine issues and questions within the scope of existing practices under the direction of Payroll Manager

  • Perform weekly, monthly, quarter-end and year-end audits.

  •  Maintain a wide variety of payroll information, files, and records in written and electronic formats for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.

  • Manage team SLA within case management system.  

  • Maintain strong HR/Payroll policy knowledge.

  • Provide assistance to both human resources and accounting when necessary.

  • Provide customer service to employees and effectively communicate all payroll-related information.

  • Maintain direct ownership of assigned tasks/projects.

  • Additional projects as required.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 72,165.00 - $84,900.00
