Senior Social Video Editor, Tom's Guide / Future Studios

Future Studios is one of the world’s leading producers of short-form factual and social content, creating and distributing digital content for huge global audiences, brands, clients and platforms.

Tom’s Guide is Future’s biggest tech brand, bringing the latest tech news and views to millions of highly engaged consumers.

We're looking for a Senior Social Video Editor to play a key role in developing and shaping Tom’s Guide’s growing video content. The role will involve developing and editing videos for Tom’s Guide for publication over a range of platforms (including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok).

What you'll be doing…

You’ll work with the Tom’s Guide editorial team to edit short-form digital content ranging from 90-second clips to eight minute documentaries. You will produce a range of content from one-off tech reviews to formatted shows. We are not necessarily looking for a tech expert, more for someone who has a passion for creating short-form video and has expert skills in producing and editing viral social content.

You'll be editing footage to a high standard, recognising what elements will produce compelling, watchable content, coming up with new ways to present our content, working collaboratively with Future’s editorial team to generate ideas for content, including developing video series that could become successful show brands. and working with the producers to plan the key beats of each film to ensure the right footage is shot for each film.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

• Proven ability to edit really engaging and watchable video to a market-leading standard.
• End-to-end editing of short-form video packages in Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Creating rough-cuts and assemblies.
• A passion and understanding of today’s viral video content.
• Experience of setting up shoots for short-form digital content.
• General knowledge of legal and rights including copyright and consent is desirable.

Please note, the salary range for this position is: $71,000 - $76,000.

This is a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement between Future US, Inc. and the Writers Guild of America East.
