Overview
This role is responsible for project management and implementation of a net zero program at an oil and gas organization. This role will manage programs and project workstreams on behalf of the Program Management Office and Operations teams, with a heavy emphasis on preparing project artifacts, such as internal and external materials for Steering Committee and Board of Directors, building, and maintaining project plans in Smartsheet, managing risk logs, and organizing, facilitating, and documenting meetings, and the like. Also responsible for establishing and maintaining relevant program systems, strategy, documentation, large excel reports, and discipline to standardize and optimize processes. And facilitating executive decision making and actively supporting overall program implementation. This position is remote, working in the Central and Mountain Time Zones.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategically organize, plan, project manager, drive, and actively support the net zero implementation initiative.
Facilitate executive and working team discussions and decision making to drive consensus, implementation, and overall program results. Document discussions, decisions, and results for executive review.
Prepare materials such as SteerCo and Board of Directors presentations. Presentations will be in PowerPoint and require speed of delivery and attention to detail.
Create team project plans, process flows, requirements, and timelines.
Manage the projects using client's PM tools, including a RASCI, RAID log, meeting agendas, and project plans in Smartsheet; build dashboards in Smartsheet, as required.
Develop and / or edit project plans in Smartsheet.
Identify key RAIDs, prepare alternatives, and escalate them according to the RASCI.
Lead regular update meetings with project teams, as well as prepare and lead ad hoc working sessions to resolve specific task items.
Daily, hands-on program/project management throughout the program life cycle
Document program and project deliverables and utilize PMI PMP methodology.
Plan and monitor the progress of complex programs and multiple workstreams.
Integrate business policies and governance processes into planning and accountability for project roadmaps and long-term strategy.
Establish risk management, escalation paths and take corrective action, as well as identify program KPIs to assess and measure impact
Build and manage Program business case and budget, and manage utilization of resources across projects
Facilitate and lead project meetings and manage stakeholders’ communication
Provide and perform quality assurance checks on all project artifacts and deliverables.
Own overall integrated project plan and manage cross-functional resource and workflow, ensuring on-time delivery, meeting of budgetary demands, and achievement of business goal.
Requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
Candidates must have strong experience in program and/or project management gained through managing large and complex projects. Candidates must have the following:
Minimum of 5 years strong program/project management experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge of Carbon Capture and Sequestration, Net Zero initiatives, and/or upstream Oil and Gas industry required.
Consulting Experience with strategy and analytics capability
Proven knowledge of project and program management methodology
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, executive facilitation, and change management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to influence, strategize and negotiate.
Ability to think analytically and deliver information succinctly in an insightful format for executives
Qualifications/Technical Skill Requirements
5+ years of program/project management experience and formal project management methodology
Minimum of 2+ years as Management or Business Consultant preferred.
Experience working with PMOs and their stakeholders such as C-Suite executives, Board of Directors, Operations, Finance and Sales department teams.
