Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Overview

In the Senior Software Engineer - Backend role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the digital user experience for millions of Chick-fil-A customers. As a member of the Customer Technology Solutions (CTS) team, you will have the opportunity to make key contributions to the design and implementation of systems that support digital sales and provide a positive and friction-free digital ordering experience for customers each day.    

 

The CTS teams work in an agile environment and provides a good mix of working with new technologies and supporting existing systems.  It is a fast-paced environment, and there is no shortage of exciting things to work on.

 

In this role, you will use your backend software development experience using Go and make technical decisions with support from your Lead.  You will also be partnering with the team to make larger decisions, overall.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend software solutions using Go for CTS offerings
• Learn skills in infrastructure and deployment services like AWS and Kubernetes as well as areas like application security, data analytics, machine learning, and site reliability engineering
• Steward financial data using a variety of data transformation, movement, and manipulation technologies including SQL, PL-SQL, and AWS-related technologies (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB, Athena, Redshift)

Note - Working in a DevOps model, this opportunity includes both building and running solutions that could require off hours support. This support is shared amongst the team members to cover weekends and weeknights.  The goal is to design for failure and, using cloud-native infrastructure patterns, automate responses to possible issues so they can be worked during normal hours. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Backend programming experience in GoLang (Preferred), Java or Python
• Experience with SQL and data modeling
• Experience working with an agile development methodology featuring sprints, points estimation, and daily standups
• Must be eligible to work in the US without the need for Visa sponsorship or transfer (including F1, TN, H1B, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing application security, software design patterns, and the SDLC
• Experience with source control systems like Git or Subversion
• Familiarity with version control systems and code merging/branching; specific experience with git desirable
• Experience with Unix/Linux
• Good interpersonal and team collaboration skills
