Join Aprio's Growth Team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities.  Aprio, LLP is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications to join their dynamic team. 
The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications is a key position on the Communications team, working closely with the Vice President of Communications and the Growth team to shape the firm’s brand reputation, execute strategies to amplify the Aprio story and ensure effective and impactful communication both internally and externally in support of our team members, and services to clients, prospects, and business partners.

Position responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing communication strategies aligned with the firm’s objectives and key results, firm-wide strategic plan and Aprio fundamentals to support projects, programs and campaigns.
  • Brand Management: Defining and maintaining the brand voice, style, and messaging.
  • Media Relations: Managing relationships with journalists, handling press inquiries, and creating press materials.
  • Internal Communication: Facilitating communication within the organization, including employee engagement, announcements, and crisis communication.
  • External Communication: Crafting press releases, video scripts, speeches, and other external-facing content.
  • M&A Communications: Working closely with the internal M&A integrations team, prepare key communication assets in support of firm combinations with Aprio.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional departments in a matrix environment.
  • Writing and Editing: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting messaging for senior leadership and prepping leaders for speaking engagements and presentations; ability to develop strategic messaging guides for ‘on strategy’ corporate communications.
  • Media Relations: Experience working directly with journalists, managing press inquiries, pitching editorial content, and building relationships with media outlets.
  • Digital Communication: Familiarity with social media, email campaigns, and other digital channels.
  • Crisis Communication: Ability to handle sensitive situations and communicate effectively and with discretion during crises.
  • Change Management:  Understanding of change management principles and experience communicating and supporting change initiatives.
  • Project Management: Organizational skills for coordinating multi-channel campaigns and events; Organization and communication of large-scale complex projects; Detail-oriented, organized and solutions-obsessed with effective time management skills. 
  • Interpersonal Skills: Collaboration, empathy, active listening, and decision making; Ability to ‘flex’ workstyle to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment that may include tense situations, handling quick turnarounds as well as prioritizing ongoing assignments in a team structure and as an individual contributor; High degree of intellectual curiosity and ability to absorb new concepts quickly. 
  • Solutioning Skills:  Outstanding problem-solving and talent for conducting research, analyzing and finding patterns in data, developing solutions and pulling together the right people and resources for implementation.
  • Strategic Communications:  Experience in strategy development and creative program support for national and global programs and initiatives (e.g. DEIB, People & Culture, M&A integration, etc.). 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in communications 
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field,
  • Experience: Relevant work experience in strategic communications, public relations, or media relations is essential. Previous roles in corporate communications, agencies – professional services organization experience is a plus; as well as experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners in a matrix environment.
