The Role at a Glance
The Director, Financial Analysis will play a critical role in analyzing monthly and quarterly financial results for Group Protection. You will present findings to senior leadership while developing effective reporting tools and dashboards. You will also provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives.
What you'll be doing
- Responsible for producing and communicating summaries of profitability analytics that can be presented to cross functional senior leadership.
- Maintain and enhance infrastructure that allows for deep historical profitability analysis is a critical responsibility for this role. This should be at a customer level, facilitating various segment level views. Includes data infrastructure design and appropriate treatment of complex actuarial components such as premium, reserves, paid claims, expenses and commissions.
- Must develop effective reporting tools and dashboards to aid the consumption and analysis of customer-level income statement line items e.g. Tableau dashboards
- The depth of the analysis needed, together with the complex actuarial interplay between in-force block dynamics, trends in the exposure base, premium levels, persistency, risk elements, reserves, GAAP/LDTI and STAT principles, necessitate that the employee who drives this work have strong actuarial expertise with the FSA credential.
- Must have the ability to design and execute robust infrastructure solutions.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
- Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit.
- Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
What we’re looking for
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major
- 7+ Years experience in financial analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience (Required)
- FSA designation or ASA designation with additional years actuarial experience
- Group insurance knowledge, historical trends in key risk metrics and a proven ability to successfully deal with complex business problems

The pay range for this position is $108,501 - $195,900 with anticipated pay for
