Warehouse Technician

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Site Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:30AM - 5:00 PM

Location: San Diego, CA

What we’re looking for 

• Education: High School Diploma is required  

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of material handling/shipping/receiving experience is required   

• Must have valid driver’s license

• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

• Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional can-do attitude

• Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality

• Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies, and procedures

• Must be flexible, self-starter, forward-thinking, motivated, and can act independently

• Must be able to lift 50lbs

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

• Be liable for logistical activities such as delivering, shipping, and receiving of packages through coordination with 3rd party couriers

• Process packages using an RF Scanner and various tracking system

• Load and unload trucks containing small to mid-size packages.

• Use company vehicle to deliver packages. (Must have valid driver’s license)

• Pull packing slips and label with the accurate route to ensure correct delivery on site.

• Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating, as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls

• Required to stand and walk for most of the working day

• May be required to assist with additional tasks as needed.
