Manages the clinical requirements necessary for implementing and enhancing the information systems used for professional clinical practice. Serves as the facility project manager for clinical system implementations and upgrades. Serves as a liaison in planning the design of clinical information systems.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
- Creates and manages process improvement and quality assurance initiatives related to the clinical systems.
- Collaborates in development of project plans, project charters, manages issues and risk lists and assigns work to team members for clinical system implementations and upgrades.
- Collaborates to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and within scope.
- Leads project teams and represents all community hospital clinical disciplines affected by the clinical workflow process design and implementation.
- Researches evidence-based best clinical workflow practices and innovative technology enablers for future workflow practices.
- Coordinates multiple project installations throughout the organization.
- Implements new processes at community hospitals to include acceptance of processes by end users and on-going support to sustain.
- Develops educational materials for clinicians to include new practices and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five to ten or more years of experience.
- Two to five years of supervisory experience.
- Prior Epic experience and certification.
- Registered nurse.
- General knowledge of University and Medical School culture and practices.
- Project management experience.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to use influence techniques and participate in change management.
- Demonstrated effective Microsoft office suite ability including PowerPoint and experience developing external relationships and networks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
Grade
G15Salary Range
$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Questions
