Job Description Summary
GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business provides Electrical power conversion systems for various Naval, Marine, Cruise Line, Offshore O&G, Metals, Power, Water, as well as upstream/downstream Oil & Gas applications. Typical scope includes the system engineering and supply of MV & LV power converters and controls, motors, transformers, switchgear, dynamic positioning and automation systems.The Graduate Field Service Engineer under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks and ensures proper installation, service and commissioning of products and services. Provides technical support for installation and commissioning of projects and provides maintenance, breakdown emergency support and remote troubleshooting. This role is intended for the Fresh Graduates who are looking to build their career in the Customer site and Field Services.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
- Perform installation and commissioning on drive systems, power systems, automation systems or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations during ship construction.
- Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions.
- Performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of our equipment.
- Develop documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures, as well as execute customer training.
- Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades.
- Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service.
- Assist in the growth and direction of the North American business.
- Provide support to engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects
- Complete timely service reports and other administrative requirements
- Perform work on-board vessels within GEV / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
- Extended hours / overtime maybe required during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
- Domestic or overseas travel to customer sites for extended periods of time.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university or Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 1 additional years of related industry experience.
- Strong Technical fundamentals on Electrical Power, Semiconductors and Digital Electronics.
- Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice for Services and Project requirements at Customer Sites.
Desired Characteristics:
- US Person with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects.
- For field service engineers that have the potential of working offshore, must be able to pass a Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and offshore survival course which includes activities in a swimming pool.
- Possesses leadership qualities that align with GE Vernova Way.
- Background in a customer facing position within a Service environment.
- Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments, which require considerable engineering skill and creative ability and independent judgment.

- Highly motivated and curious individual that’s not afraid to show initiative.
- The work environment at onsite locations is of a construction type setting. Whilst performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of trips, slips and falls. The noise level on-site or on-board ships can be excessive, personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required. <
