Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Underwriting Operations Intern to join our team this summer. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the underwriting process for various lines of insurance coverage, including property, casualty, workers compensation, umbrella, excess, marine, and automobile. The intern will provide technical and administrative support to our underwriting team while learning the foundational skills of the insurance industry.

Responsibilities:
Under supervision and guidance, the intern will:

• Support the preparation and analysis of new and renewal insurance submissions.

• Assist in collecting and reviewing underwriting data (e.g., exposures, loss history, financials, driver info, inspection reports).

• Learn to input data into underwriting systems to support the production of quotes, binders, and policy documents.

• Help maintain accurate policy records and documentation in underwriting databases.

• Observe and assist with issuing endorsements, reviewing reinsurance documentation, and organizing submission materials.

• Assist in performing quality control checks to ensure data integrity.

• Respond to broker requests, such as for loss runs or documentation, in a timely and professional manner.

• Participate in special projects and gain exposure to catastrophe modeling, risk engineering, and rating tools.
