JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Customer Service Representative to serve as a first-line liaison for internal and external customers including guests, clients, faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
These positions will be assigned in one of the five dining commons operations on campus (North, East, South, West, & Pollock). The majority of the position will be spent processing transactions at markets and retail dining operations in the location. While office work is occasionally available, the primary duties of this assignment will be cashier operations. Residential Dining operates from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. daily, and schedules will be determined based on the needs of the operation. We are currently hiring for various schedules and shifts.
These positions are 75% FTE with a break between mid-May and mid-August consistent with the academic calendar or 100% FTE, working all year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Deliver quality service and correspond with a diverse customer base in person, by phone, email, fax, or regular mail
Responding to routine customer questions and/or needs, provide appropriate response/service; refer to other department(s)/unit(s) as appropriate
May process a variety of financial forms/transactions and maintain inventories
Operating various equipment and computer systems
Reporting unusual situations or concerns to appropriate personnel
Providing general support services to office
This position typically requires a High School Diploma or higher plus 1 year of related experience.
