The Position

Maintenance Mechanic-2

Job Summary

  • Safely perform all tasks to include following all safe access systems (LOTO, confined space, fall protection, etc.), conduct daily area inspections, and perform housekeeping in work areas.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance/safety inspections.  Utilize good housekeeping practices. Perform preventative/corrective maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.  Perform root cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to maintain basic conditions to ensure that equipment and systems continue to run smoothly, efficiently and do not deteriorate.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, check drawings/blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, repair or replace defective equipment.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
  • Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work in appropriate format.
  • Recommend changes to equipment/process in order to improve efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
