Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead and expand our sales efforts of aircraft ground support equipment (GSE) to the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and other military branches. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of military procurement processes, existing relationships within the U.S. military ecosystem, and a proven track record of winning contracts and managing long-term defense
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the U.S. military for aircraft GSE, including USAF, Navy, Army, Marine Corps, and DoD logistics agencies.
- Lead end-to-end proposal development, including RFI/RFQ responses, bid strategies, pricing input, and compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposals meet technical requirements and budget constraints. Negotiate contract terms, pricing and delivery schedules.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key military procurement personnel, defense contractors, and logistics decision-makers.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations teams to tailor GSE solutions to military specifications and operational requirements.
- Visit US Military sites frequently to identify opportunities to sell GSE and develop solutions for these customers using our new and improved products and to also gather feedback to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development and sales strategies that align with company goals and objectives, including short-term and long-term plans.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential competitors within the military aerospace industry
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, International Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or program management focused on U.S. defense markets, with a strong record of securing contracts or partnerships.
- Strong understanding of U.S. military structure, acquisition lifecycle, and defense contracting.
- Demonstrated success selling capital equipment, preferably aerospace or GSE-related products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and proposal-writing skills.
- Willingness to travel (25–50%) as needed for customer engagement and industry events.
- Strong network of contacts within the military and defense community.
Preferred:
- Prior military service or experience working with the DoD as a contractor or vendor.
- Access to US Military bases.
- Existing network within DoD procurement offices or defense primes.
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance operations and GSE systems.
