About the role

Nerdy is looking for a forward-thinking Senior Total Rewards Specialist to join our People Team who will develop and continuously improve all aspects of the People Operations function. The Senior Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive total rewards programs that align with the company’s strategic objectives. This role will play a critical part in ensuring our compensation and benefits offerings are competitive and effectively communicated to our employees. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in total rewards.

This individual should be data-driven with the ability to conduct full-cycle project management while providing a best in class level of operational benefits expertise to the organization. Qualifications:

  • Benefits operations experience including vendor management and end-user (employee) administration
  • Knowledge of People benefits admin systems, with a keen ability to learn and adapt to new technology
  • Previous success supporting open enrollment and employee benefits inquiries
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and effective research skills
  • Proven ability to deliver quality results in a dynamic environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (e.g. VLOOKUP)
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work with clear direction from your manager
  • Excellent active listening and presentation skills
  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and process multiple data sets/points in a way that supports solutions
  • Understands and appreciates that Nerdy is an apolitical company and that we can have the largest impact if we are united in our focus on helping people learn and not divided or distracted by advancing unrelated causes.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • ADP Workforce Now experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree
  • 3+ years of People Operations experience specifically within Benefits, and HR spaces, preferably in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization; startup or high-growth tech company

Responsibilities:

The Sr. Benefits Specialist will be a key ambassador for our People team, with both internal and external dependencies. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to own both people processes (including benefits enrollment and FMLA/leave management) and develop efficiencies that support continuous improvement across all People functions (broker relationships, leave management improvements, and benefits materials).
