About the role:
We are currently seeking a SVP of Finance and Accounting who in conjunction with the CFO, prepares financial and ALCO reports including annual plan and operating budgets. Ensures complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records for the credit union and prepares analysis of operations for management. Manages the credit union's ACH, share drafts, IRA and Check 21 functions and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
A day in the life of the Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting will include:
- Overseeing the Credit Union's Finance, Accounting, and Financial Operations, leading financial strategy and complex financial data.
- Managing the financial reporting functions, including but not limited to regular monthly financial package, ALM report package, etc. Fulfilling finance-related ad hoc projects assigned by the CFO and President/CEO.
- Managing the ACH, share drafts, IRAs and Check 21 functions and ensures the credit union's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Ensuring a trained, motivated and professional staff capable of providing efficient and effective services to the Credit Union's members. Interviewing, scheduling, training, assigning work, establishing performance expectations and monitoring results. Recommending the discipline and/or discharge of subordinates, while maintaining required personnel documentation.
- Maintaining all analyses regarding Asset Liability Management (ALM) to include monitoring the concentration of the portfolio, credit risk analysis, interest rate risk analysis, liquidity rate risk analysis, price risk analysis and other areas to ensure the safety and soundness of operations. Making recommendations to the CFO regarding loan sales, MDPA analysis and other cash management objectives including borrowing strategies and discussions regarding current economic and market conditions. In accordance with ALM and budgetary functions, being responsible for using various models and methodologies and performing complex and sophisticated financial analysis functions including rate of return, depreciation, working capital, return on investment, budget variance, expense review and business unit and/or corporate performance analyses.
