Accounting Manager

OVERVIEW:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and supervising the facility’s financial support function(s), to ensure industry standards, as well as company policy and procedures are followed. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the complete flow of the business functions of the department(s) including proper recording of payments, changes and write-offs, proper methods of collections, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial documents and reporting.
• Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• Check accuracy of business transactions recorded by others.
• Manage department financial operations.
• Analyze financial records or reports to determine state of operations and to improve financial management.
• Prepare financial documents, reports or budgets, as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required.
• Four or more years’ related experience/knowledge of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid required.
• Knowledge of payer-specific rules and regulations regarding billing and payment for facility and professional services.
