Schumacher Sales Project Manager - Special Orders

F. Schumacher & Co., America’s leading name for manufacturing and distributing fabric, wall covering, floorcovering and furnishings is seeking a Project Manager for the Special Orders team under the Schumacher North America brand.
The New York City-based Project Manager will support in managing large orders, MTO and custom projects, and other large orders where inventory is not readily on-hand. SPMs oversee all necessary steps are taken to ensure the order meets quality and customer expectations and timeline goals. This role is a critical success partner to the sales organization. It provides better customer service, more efficient resourcing, and reduced risk on large sales. This role communicates with and supports the sales team and is accountable for seeing an order all the way through successful delivery to the customer.
Core focus of this role will be managing custom orders for Schumacher NA.
This is Hybrid Role, and you will be based Onsite 3 - 4 Days Week in our beautiful NYC Corporate Headquarters.
Job Responsibilities:

- Develop an order plan: This involves creating a detailed plan to make sure orders continue to move forward and are brought to completion, this involves working directly with vendors and internal departments, like procurement and operations, to understand deliverables and establish a clear timeline
- Monitor Progress: This involves tracking the progress of an order and making any necessary adjustments to ensure it stays on track and meets customer expectations
- Communicate with stakeholders: This involves keeping sales reps informed about the progress of an order and addressing any concerns or questions they may have
- Communicate with customers: This involves proactive communication with customers about the status of their order and fielding questions they may have
- Evaluate an order’s success: This involves assessing the outcomes of an order and determining how well it met expectations, as well as taking learnings to identify how to change, improve, and optimize processes for the future
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the post-sale process to ensure all order deliverables are met within an established timeline
- Build strong internal and vendor relationships to deliver on a high-quality product and customer service experience
- Manage client and sales expectations through consistent and clear communication at all stages of the order
- Maintain clear understanding of order timelines through regular follow-up and maintain strong organization on order details
- Troubleshoot client and order issues to ensure client happiness by collaborating with internal departments to find solutions
- Work closely with sales team to establish a clear handoff process of orders, and follow- up with sales reps regularly to keep them informed of order status’
The SPM’s Relationship to Vendors:
- As the Sales Project Manager, you must be able to build and maintain relationships with vendors to move orders along. Your work with vendors does not involve negotiating pricing, terms, or scoping new goods.
- Your work with vendors includes placing POs and following through on making sure goods are delivered within an established timeline.
- SPMs should be familiar with various procurement methods and procedures. This knowledge is essential to understand meeting order deadlines and ensuring that quality standards are met.
- It is also important this role works closely with stakeholders within procurement
throughout an order’s journey.
The SPM’s Relationship with Sales:
- SPMs are not sales representatives. They are not involved in generating leads; however, this role does serve as a key driver in the sales process. SPMs work alongside SSRs and AEs to close a sale, focusing on the operational pieces of an order. This could involve working directly with clients on timeline needs and working to acquire the product in time or proactively giving updates to all stakeholders involved to keep a sale going.
- SPMs work closely with sales to understand important factors of an order like project timeline, needs of the customer, and end-use for the product. This role then serves as the go between with sales and vendors facilitate shipment from treatment to final destination, sending and following up on POs with vendors, and answering questions from sales team
