This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.
Organization & Team Overview
Comcast’s corporate communications team in Washington, D.C. manages the company’s brand reputation in DC and executes communications strategies that support our legislative and federal regulatory advocacy efforts across Comcast NBCUniversal. This group works closely with both the communications team based at our HQ in Philadelphia as well as the government affairs operation in DC.
Role Description
You’ll support the team in planning and executing strategies that elevate the Comcast brand and corporate reputation among key audiences in Washington. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter who thinks strategically and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously with efficiency and effectiveness.
As an intern on our corporate communications team, you’ll gain exposure to the communications/PR department of a leading Fortune 50 company. You’ll also have opportunities to learn more about other functions across our company, including legal; government affairs; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and community impact, to name a few.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Draft communications materials: blog posts, email pitches, press releases, etc.
Help develop and execute Comcast NBCUniversal special events in Washington, to include event design, registration management, vendor management, etc.
Compile and maintain targeted media lists; research reporters & bloggers.
Track and report media coverage surrounding specific announcements and general policy topics.
Design graphics and create social media content in line with corporate brand guidelines.
Support other communications projects as assigned.
