As a Sr. Certification Exam Developer at Databricks, you will apply your expertise in exam development for the Databricks Certification Program. You will work for the Manager of Certification Development to design Databricks accreditation and certification exams in areas of data engineering, data analysis, machine learning, and cloud architecture and systems integration. As a member of the Certification Development team, you'll work with global stakeholders, technical subject-matter-experts, and technical curriculum developers to deliver certification content that meets the needs of Databricks partners, customers, and the entire Data + AI industry.
Outcomes
- Create exam blueprints for high-stakes, proctored certification exams and low-stakes, unproctored accreditation exams according to job-task analyses compiled by Learning Architects
- Maintain certification exams and accreditation assessments
- Follow industry best practices in leading item writing workshops with subject matter experts to maintain up-to-date test forms for all exams
- Conduct item writing workshops with SME's to develop test items
- Recruit, train and schedule SMEs in writing technically and psychometrically sound test items.
- Monitor assessment and exam performance to ensure they meet the target roles/ competencies and program requirements.
- Ensure currency and quality of test items based on frequent product and platform changes.
- Develop certification enablement materials, including exam guides, certification web pages, sample test items, guided exam prep journeys, and prep courses.
- Utilize item delivery platforms for exam operations and delivery
- Be a company-wide expert and subject-matter-expert on assessment principles and best practices, along with educating Bricksters on said principles and best practices
- Cross-functional work across Support Team - example- respond to escalated support issues related to our exams
- Develop strategic initiatives
Skills/Experience
- Business writing skills with experience editing technical emails and content
- Experience operating with a fast-changing project and company direction
- Deep expertise with certification development
- End-to-end certification development
- Data-driven decision-making
- Stakeholder management
- 5+ years of experience developing technical assessments based on assessment best practices
- Experience with topics related to big data analytics such as Spark, data science, machine learning, and cloud
- Technical depth and or proficiency inPython or SQL

Pay Range Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
