Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology exclusively partners with the Morgan Stanley Investment Management business division to design and develop systems and integrate vendor products to globally support full life cycle business processing. Activities include Portfolio Analysis, Risk, Trading, Operations, and Sales & Marketing. Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Technology also provides holistic support and quality assurance across the suite of applications used in the MSIM environment.
In Specialty solutions group (SSG), we are rapidly automating and transforming the way business is done and create efficiencies in their business delivery. We seek an experienced Backend developer to join the team and embark on this transformation journey. The individual will work as part of the global agile development team, which is spread across 3 MSIM locations. The individual will help the team design and develop a modern technology stack to power our digital platforms aimed at unlocking efficiencies for our business users(Investment teams, Investment solutions groups, Tax and compliance). As a Backend developer, the individual will work closely with the Investment Management business to solve operational problems and design strategic solutions.
What you’ll do in the role:
Designing and developing modern and modular web applications using modern coding and testing standards.
Participating in our agile ceremonies and actively driving towards the team's goals.
Working independently using modern software development practices.
Working collaboratively with a global team of technologists.
Leading with ideas and innovation.
Managing communication and partnering with stake holders (MSIM Business teams) to design solutions.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Experience developing enterprise Python and JAVA/.Net applications.
Experience designing distributed event driven systems
Experience building enterprise grade micro services.
Experience writing unit, component and integration tests.
Experience working with relational or NoSql database.
Strong understanding of financial markets and various financial instruments with a focus on Equities.
Strong computer science fundamentals.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stan
