About the role

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in Platform Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) in maintaining its information technology (IT) enterprise infrastructure. This individual will have a background in Dev Ops concepts.

 

Remote role.  Must be local to the DC Metro area.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's platform infrastructure.
  • The Systems Engineer will focus on platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable platforms.
  • Lead the design and implementation of the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend platform technologies to meet business needs.
  • Configure and optimize platform components for performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate platform solutions with existing systems.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of the platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Implement security measures to protect the platform from potential threats.
  • Ensure platform compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create and maintain documentation for platform configurations, procedures, and processes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship and must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience or Master’s degree and 6 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with monitoring performance and throughput, setting baselines for acceptable performances standards while teams develop new solutions.
  • Experience working in public and private clouds.
  • Ability and readiness to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills required.
  • Must have strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with major cloud providers preferred.
  • Possess superior technical aptitude and effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proven experience with managing and using Dev Ops concepts.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
