Job Profile SummaryServes as a medical imaging professional who provides clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities includes performing ultrasound exams as well as professional development and oversight of sonography staff. Activities performed are consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.
Coordinates training and development of others, keeping them advised of technological changes. Serves as a clinical instructor for affiliated sonography programs and participates in the instruction of the new hire sonographers and the students. Acts as a clinical resource for other staff. Provides direction to the technical staff, facilitates patient flow through the department, and provides support to management to assures that technical operations stay within the target.
Job Description:
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an accredited sonography program (verification not required for those possessing ARDMS)
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- ARDMS (OB)
- NTQR certificate of program completion
- OR FMF NT certificate of program completion
- BLS-Basic Life Support
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 8 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Extensive clinical experience in providing sonography services and demonstrated ability to mentor and support staff sonographers.
- Demonstrated competence in the specialty area(s) to be performed, including sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning (e.g., continuing medical education in the specialty area(s) performed, higher education, research, staff training, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs for documentation activities and report generation.
- Demonstrate empathetic listening skills and compassion in the workplace.

Pay Range is $72.88 to $91.09 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
