About the role

POSITION TITLE: COST ACCOUNTANT DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTING / FINANCE REPORTS TO: COST ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR SCOPE: The Cost Accountant will analyze and control company costs to help maximize profitability. This role will work closely with various business partners to help ensure well informed financial decisions are made at the management level and above. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support product cost quotations across all product lines.
Daily product costing for new products and changes to existing products.
Costing analysis to ensure compliance to country of origin and other customer regulations.
Analyze production costs to recommend cost savings measures.
Assist in physical and cycle count reconciliation of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
Identify areas of opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency enhancement.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries to support financial statements.
Review bill of materials and labor routing sequences for accuracy.
Cross functional collaboration with production, procurement, and engineering teams.

Convey global costing and inventory impacts to management.

Prepare ad-hoc analysis in support of business decisions/financial justifications.
Establish intercompany transfer pricing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Understanding of manufacturing environments and product cost structuring.
Superior communication & interpersonal skills.
Strong organization and time-management skillset.
Willingness to work on-site (Easton, PA).
Proactive, self-motivated, and detailed oriented with curious mindset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years of Accounting or Finance experience, preferably with a global manufacturing company.
Experience using an ERP software system; A plus if experience is with AS400 or Infor systems.
