Project Engineer - Railroad Bridge / Structural (PE) 

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our robust Railroad-Bridge team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced rail professional with a strong technical design background. As a Project Engineer in our Railroad-Bridge team you will also contribute to strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the Railroad Division. 

Location: This position is situated at our Jacksonville, FL office, providing the flexibility of remote work as part of our hybrid schedule. Alternately, this position can be situated in Atlanta, GA.  

Benesch’s Railroad Division is made up of highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This firsthand experience working on designing and maintaining active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of rail projects. 

The Impact You Will Have: 

• Performing basic analysis of project elements
• Performing load development and designing calculations of project elements, and checking work
• Preparing organized structural calculations
• Designing and drafting structural elements and details
• Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
• Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned
• Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager

What We Are Looking For:

• BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline
• PE License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Minimum of 7 years of structural design experience
• Experience working with State's DOT preferred.
• Excellent communication and client relation skills.
• Progressive experience with developing plans and specifications utilizing Microstation
• Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
• Ability to perform complex analysis and design
• Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment  #LI-MM1
