Cruise is looking for a skilled Machine Learning/Robotics Engineer to help architect and develop powerful Mapping Algorithms and ML models vital to build and maintain high-resolution AV maps at scale. Our team owns map maintenance for existing cities and new map creation - including and not limited to - ADAS systems, collision detection, and emergency removals. In this position, you will be responsible for leading mapping automation efforts as Cruise expands into other territories across the US and internationally.

What you’ll be doing:

• Research, develop and deploy state-of-the art algorithms and ML models to build 3D maps at scale.
• Design and develop complex, highly scalable, and latency-optimized software in C+
• Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing and code reviews

What you must have:

• 5+ years of experience as a Robotics/Machine Learning Engineer writing production quality code in C++ and Python
• Track record of driving ML research projects from start to completion, including conception, problem definition, experimentation, iteration, and finally productization.
• Experience with automated labelling for HD maps in AV or adjacent industries
• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Experience with ROS
• Experience with PyTorch, Tensorflow, or other ML Tools
• Experience working with multimodal data from different sensors (e.g. camera, lidar, etc.)
• Experience with BigQuery and GCP

 

The salary range for this position is $163,200 - $240,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
