Business Intelligence Architect

Mission Focus: As the Business Intelligence Architect on our Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Knowledge Management (KM) Support Team you will guide a team of developers, data analysts, and system administrators who provide the operation, maintenance, enhancement, and development support for knowledge, data, and analytics management within DTRA. 

 

This effort is a vital initiative within DTRA designed to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical IT solutions that enhance collaboration, data management, process streamlining, and decision-making for DTRA. This contract provides the necessary expertise and experience needed to support the Agency’s growing need for specialized systems, software, security, cloud, and KM solutions. Specific support is needed for the enterprise SharePoint and Business Intelligence Dashboard knowledge sharing systems. 

 

Clearance:  Current TS/SCI clearance required 

  

Location/Flexibility: Ft. Belvoir 

 

Responsibilities:   

• Performs independent high-level design of enterprise application systems for knowledge management.  
• Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework for data management and analytics.  
• Works with systems users in the identification and resolution of user problems and concerns for complex projects.  
• Provides expertise in requirements gathering, design, coordination, testing and support of customer BI reporting and analytic needs.  
• Collaborates with business process owners, technical staff and project manager to leverage the use of data and data strategies across a full spectrum of business/operational needs.  
• Provides necessary data elements and business knowledge to support the design and development of data models.   
• May lead the integration efforts for merging BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications. 
• Employs data warehouse analysis and design experience, with knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.   
•  Works closely with other leads to design and implement requirements gathered from stakeholders.  

Qualifications:   

• 6+ years of relevant experience and a BS Degree required (additional experience may be substituted for education, and additional education may be substituted for years of experience). 
• Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) certification or obtain it within 60 days. 
• Certified MicroStrategy Architect or Expert 
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence concepts. 
• Experience in architecting and implementing end-to-end BI solutions, including data integration, data modeling, and reporting/visualization tools. 
• Proficiency in BI platforms such as Power BI and MicroStrategy.  
• Solid understanding of database management systems, data integration techniques, and data governance principles.  
• Familiarity with cloud-based BI platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics) is a plus.  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable and robust technical solutions. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.  
• Proven leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and guiding teams

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer   
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at time
