Your Impact:

As a vital member of the Executive Management Team, the General Manager will oversee the Ready Mix, Aggregate, Fleet, and Plant Maintenance functions. Responsibilities include developing policies, ensuring compliance, and cultivating a positive work environment. This key role involves actively following and reviewing various policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Training Manual, and Safety Manual. Reporting directly to the CEO/President, the General Manager will collaborate with upper management and the sales team to enhance operational efficiency, continuing the company's position as an industry leader.

 

Your Role:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the company's vision.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Team Management:

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, including Ready-Mix Area Managers, Fleet Manager, Aggregate Superintendent, and Plant Maintenance Manager.
  • Work closely with HR on talent acquisition, retention, and development.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee all aspects of Ready-Mix, Aggregate, Fleet, and Plant Maintenance functions.
  • Monitor departmental budgets to ensure results align with business objectives.
  • Works closely with Area Managers, Plant Managers and Plant Maintenance Manager to ensure all buildings and facilities are in good working condition and uphold our company image. 

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work in partnership with upper-level management, including the Controller, HR Manager, Safety Director, Quality Control Director, IT Systems Administrator, and Redi-Mix Sales Manager.
  • Foster open communication and positive relationships across all levels of the organization.

Industry Positioning:

  • Evaluate and monitor industry trends, recommending strategies to strengthen the company's competitive position.
  • Collaborate with the CEO/President on financial and capital expenditure decisions.
  • Work with sales and operations to identify and capitalize on opportunities for expansion into new product areas.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all operational decisions adhere to Carroll Concrete safety standards and policies.
  • Uphold strict adherence to the S.A.F.E. Policy and Safety Manual.

Goal Setting and Development:

  • Create and develop action plans, budgets, and goals that align with overall business objectives.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A proven track record of 6-10 years in executive-level operations management, with a focus on technical or construction industries.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or trade school OR substantial and relevant hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in comprehending various concrete variables, showcasing a nuanced understanding of the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft strategic plans by identifying and addressing customer needs.
  • Proven expertise in providing effective leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Discreet handling of confidential information, reflecting a commitment to trust and integrity.
