Lead GPU Design Verification Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

• Verification Planning: Develop verification plans based on GPU architecture specifications and design requirements. Define verification strategies, methodologies, and metrics to ensure thorough validation of GPU functionality.
• Testbench Development: Lead the development of advanced verification environments and testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM (Universal Verification Methodology). Implement constrained random testing, coverage-driven verification, and assertion-based verification techniques.
• Testcase Generation: Create complex test scenarios and test cases to validate GPU features, performance, and functionality. Ensure comprehensive functional and performance coverage.
• Debug and Analysis: Drive debug efforts to identify and resolve design issues and performance bottlenecks. Collaborate with design and software teams to analyze failures and implement corrective actions.
• Verification Automation: Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline verification processes, improve efficiency, and reduce time-to-market.
• Verification Closure: Work towards verification closure by achieving coverage goals (functional coverage, code coverage, etc.) and sign-off criteria. Generate comprehensive verification reports and documentation.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in GPU verification or related semiconductor verification.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog, UVM, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl).
• Strong understanding of GPU architecture, graphics pipelines, and parallel processing.
• Experience with industry-standard verification tools and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with general purpose Object Oriented programming using C++/Java
• Experience with performance profiling and analysis
• Hardware modeling experience
• Knowledge of Graphics API: Vulcan, GLES, OpenCL

Total Rewards

At Samsung – SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $216,521.00 and $359,527.00. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
