A bit about the role...

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer has responsibility for the EE design of new “ground up” autonomous robotic coffee including performance improvement, increased manufacturability or cost reduction. Working closely with Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing and Quality engineering and through analysis of customer feedback and market trends – this individual delivers breakthrough performance to delight customers. This position works with the Costa design team in the Austin based HQ and reports to the VP of Engineering.

Key accountabilities:

  • Able to work in a dynamic, team environment and must be able to work effectively with others on projects.
  • Responsible for EE architectural design, PCBA design, embedded system design and high voltage systems of the Briggo Coffee Haus
  • Determines and communicates design approaches and parameters
  • Reviews original design manufacturer and sub-tier vendor capability to support product development and production
  • Ensures that designs integrate with rest of product functions including mechanical and software
  • Responsible for delivering designs on time, on cost and on quality
  • Responsible for multiple facets of supporting prototypes during the development phases
  • Responsible for configuring systems or boards for multiple test efforts and setting up test equipment
  • Responsible for taking measurements, compiling data and making technical recommendations.
  • Responsible for debugging, repairing and updating firmware and code
  • Responsible for debugging PCBA’s and other designed components to the board level component

A bit about you…

Required:

  • Power/Performance estimation
  • DFT and DFM implementation
  • Experience with Altium preferred
  • Requires BS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years design experience

Preferred:

  • IoT experience
  • High-voltage experience
  • Robotics experience
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers
  • Coffee industry experience

Pay Range:

$143,000 - $173,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
