Amex GBT Business travel is growing, and we’re looking for talented individuals to join a team that’s working hard to reinvent the industry and make those real-life connections truly seamless once again. We are seeking a Senior manager to join our team of experienced software leaders. The Amex GBT Egencia Lodging team builds features and tools to empower our travelers to create and manage their hotel bookings. The team's responsibilities span web development and backend micro-services using multiple technologies and frameworks including Java, React, Spring, Kotlin and AWS.


What You'll Do:

  • Lead an engineering team to build, operate, streamline, and maintain our Lodging features to meet our customers' evolving needs.
  • Partner with product and design counterparts to understand requirements and priorities, solution business problems, craft roadmaps, and manage development from concept through delivery and operations.
  • Create and maintain accurate project schedules, as well as driving tasks to completion.
  • Ensure your team meets their delivery commitments through an effective sprint planning process and daily standups; facilitate team-owned process improvements.
  • Hire, mentor, coach, and retain a collaborative, best-of-class engineering team.
  • Foster career growth and a strong team culture of inclusivity, product ownership and quality, technical and operational excellence; lead by example.
  • Maintain technical excellence by performing Architecture Review, Design Review, Code Review, and Security Review to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership in mentoring, establishing standards in documentation and clean code.


What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's / Master’s in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 8+ years of working directly within engineering teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well within and across software engineering teams, as well as other functions of the company.
  • Excellent skills at encouraging working relationships and driving teamwork.
  • Experience in working with leadership across multiple product and engineering areas.
  • Experience designing or architecting highly scalable and adaptable systems using APIs, micro-services, cloud-native and distributed computing.
  • Expertise of professional software engineering practices and methodologies of the software development process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience leading teams and delivering products using multi-tier web services infrastructure.

     

Location

United States

     

     

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $85,000 to $170,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that Egencia expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
