The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Operations provides oversight and leadership for the global 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring continuous threat detection, monitoring, and initial triage and response across IT, Operational Technology (OT), and R&D environments. This role is responsible for directing both internal security analysts and external Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) partners, driving operational excellence, process maturity, and alignment with the organization’s cybersecurity strategy.Reporting to Cyber Fusion Center Leadership, this position plays a key role in shaping SOC capabilities, optimizing analyst performance, and ensuring timely, effective escalation and resolution of security events in a hybrid operating model. The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Operations, is accountable for building resilient SOC processes, enhancing situational awareness, and maintaining compliance with internal, regulatory, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic SOC Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop a high-performing team of both internal and MSSP SOC analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
Direct daily operations and workload management to ensure full coverage and optimal performance across multiple time zones
Support onboarding, skills development, and career progression within the SOC team
Security Event Management & Operational Execution
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of security alerts and events — from detection and triage to escalation and documentation
Collaborate with MSSP resources and internal stakeholders to investigate complex alerts and coordinate escalation, and execute or support response actions
Ensure SOC procedures, workflows, and playbooks are up to date, measurable, and aligned with best practices
Threat Detection, Response Coordination, & Tool Integration
Drive operational use of key security platforms, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence feeds
Ensure threats are appropriately analyzed, prioritized, and escalated based on risk and impact.
Partner with stakeholders including other Cybersecurity teams to support cross-functional investigations and remediation
Governance, Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Maintain operational documentation and evidence to support audits, compliance requirements, and readiness assessments
Define and track SOC performance metrics and KPIs to ensure visibility and accountability for SOC effectiveness
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and detection capabilities through tool optimization and process refinement
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, including 2+ years in a SOC environment
- 2+ years of experience managing technical teams
Preferred:
- Proven experience managing MSSP relationships and hybrid SOC models.
- Certifications: CISSP, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, CompTIA Security+, or other relevant certifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Technical Acumen
- Deep familiarity with enterprise security tools: SIEM (e.g., Sentinel), SOAR, EDR platforms, IDS/IPS, and firewall technologies
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and threat modeling (e.g., NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Controls)
Leadership & Communication
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence across technical and non-technical teams
