Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Lead Security Engineer to join our team! In this role, you’ll lead the effort to design, implement, operate, support, and maintain the security infrastructure and supporting tools that are necessary to protect internal and external assets on networks that support our corporate infrastructure and applications. You’ll be the SME and primary technical resource for projects, and you’ll facilitate outstanding documentation of the architecture, configurations, processes, maintenance procedures.
This is an extremely unique opportunity and allows an excellent engineer to build the most efficient processes, workflows, and methodologies for implementing, monitoring, managing, and maintaining the most critical components of the entire organization. You will adapt quickly and manage constant change effectively. All team members of the IT Infrastructure & Architecture organization also perform any other duties as assigned.
As IT Lead Security Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging cyber threats
- Help to formulate vulnerability management frameworks and policies associated with vulnerability prioritization and patching standards
- Prepare and present various vulnerability and remediation reports
- Research vulnerabilities and analyze relevant threats, corrective remediation actions. Present and clearly explain this information to technology developers and support personnel.
- Consult with cross-functional teams for architectural design and review sessions to research, validate and deploy solutions meeting security and business needs
- Facilitate creating / maintaining domain operational procedures; ensure procedures are executed effectively
- Technically hands-on and has a good understanding of vulnerability scanning and reporting tools
- Ability to multi-task and work on urgent tasks to meet immediate needs of the business and reduce risk by taking proactive measures
- Strong technical understanding of various types of vulnerabilities and ability to assess risk associated with them and recommend appropriate remediation solution
- Self-motivated with ability to learn rapidly and apply advanced and emerging security principles, theories, and concepts
- Supports the implementation and enforcement of secure design principles according to policies, standards, and patterns of Information Security
- Identify automation opportunities
- Maintain operational documentation for processes
- Build scripts and software modules to verify the presence of vulnerabilities
- Monitor and report IT security events, incidents, and vulnerabilities
- Deep understanding of software development and scripting needed for automation of software and application packages
- Use of PowerShell, VB, and batch scripting for remote management of PCs, applying scripts and vulnerability fixes, gathering PC and user data, and applying custom enterprise configurations for applications
- In charge of Release Management and software delivery using endpoint management tools such as BigFix and Intune
- Collaborates with application owners and involved with all aspects of the application deployment process including requirements gathering, packaging, scripting, testing, deployments, and remediation
- Experience with troubleshooting and remediating complex installation issues, security settings, and Group Policy configurations for multi-user computer platforms
- Ability to automate complex or repetitive tasks between different pieces of hardware and/or software using custom scripts and endpoint tools such as BigFix
Qualifications
