Accounting Specialist / Accounts Payable

Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for:

• Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
• Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
• Managing accounts payable using accounting software (Laserfiche, BeanWorks) and other programs
• Analyzing workflow processes
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors in a professional manner
• Ensuring bills are paid timely and vendor discounts are taken, while adhering to departmental procedures
• Thoroughly review purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges for accuracy
• Processing transactions to the correct general ledger account and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance
• Managing vendor statements for past due invoices
• Excellent attendance and punctuality are an essential function of this position
• Other duties as assigned
