Position Summary

The Business Process Analyst plays a pivotal role in improving processes across the sponsored projects lifecycle. This position focuses on analyzing workflows, creating process maps, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and utilizing data analytics to enhance efficiency and compliance. The ideal candidate brings professional experience in process analysis or project management, is detail-oriented, and thrives on driving organizational improvement.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Process Analysis and Review

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of existing processes within the sponsored project lifecycle.
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement in workflows and administrative procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather input and insights on current practices.

Process Mapping and Documentation

  • Develop detailed process maps to visualize workflows, interdependencies, and decision points.
  • Write, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for grant-related activities, ensuring clarity and compliance with sponsor and institutional guidelines.
  • Ensure all documentation is user-friendly and accessible for stakeholders.

Project Management for Process Improvement

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of process improvement projects related to grant administration.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure successful implementation.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on project progress and gather feedback to refine solutions.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including compliance officers, grant administrators, and department personnel, to ensure processes align with institutional goals.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.

Training and Change Management

  • Develop training materials and resources to support the adoption of new processes and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams during transitions to updated workflows.

Data Analytics

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to grant administration processes and performance metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify inefficiencies, assess the impact of process changes, and support decision-making.
  • Present analytical findings in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines.

Special Projects

  • Lead or participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by leadership, contributing to broader organizational goals.
