Summer Student Worker, Strategy

The Strategy team is focused on providing broad, strategic vision for the Interstate Batteries organization and identifying and evaluating new growth initiatives. The Strategy Student Worker will assist the Strategy team in providing strategic and analytical direction across the enterprise.

Job Components:

• Assist the Strategy team on projects supporting achievement of Interstate’s business and financial goals and long-term strategy
• Create frameworks and approaches to solve complex problems
• Gather research and analyze internal and external data to develop fact-based and actionable recommendations and solutions
• Partner with team members through ad hoc analyses and studies to answer key commercial hypotheses or questions focused on growth (e.g. customer acquisition, capability gap analysis, etc.)
• Deploy strategic recommendations on projects
• Collaborate across teams as needed
• Participate in weekly team / project meetings

Qualifications:

• Current college student pursing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US or international university in Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Business, Finance, or other highly analytical discipline (e.g., engineering)
• Interest in management consulting, corporate strategy, or investment banking
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Excellent organizational skills, analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal, written, telephone, and verbal communication skills
• Full-time summer hours in the months of June, July, and August (ability to flex schedule pending candidate availability)
• Must have lodging in DFW area
