About Us

The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work

This position is responsible for accurately processing payments for dairy product purchases. The role requires close coordination with internal units, the Purchasing Section, and vendors to verify quantities, pricing, and documentation. Extensive manual and computer-based research is often needed to ensure correct payment amounts.

Key Job Duties
•Process payment requests for dairy product purchases and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
•Coordinate with internal units to confirm quantities and amounts received.
•Work with the Department’s Purchasing Section to validate purchase order details.
•Contact vendors to resolve discrepancies or incorrect invoices.
•Conduct detailed manual and electronic research to determine accurate payment amounts.

Salary Range: $33,902 - $59,327

· Substantive knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, proofreading, and office terminology to compose and/or proofread oral and written correspondence, reports and materials.

· Substantive knowledge of accounting procedures, applicable mathematics and their application in the work environment, including experience recording, compiling, summarizing and analyzing data.

· Considerable experience exercising judgment, discretion and negotiation skills in problem situations.

· Experience learning, interpreting and explaining policies, regulations and programs.

· Experience independently responding to inquiries and coordinating a variety of resources in acquiring and disseminating information.
